WOW! Ten Hours at work and I’ve only had one person walk through the doors, and sadly my little local wilmingtonian did not need one of our many fine mattress’, but a futon. I tried to explain why futons are silly and offer one of our finer quality mattress’ but his heart was set on a futon. Alas.
Just a few things I like to do when I need some entertainment and Gossip Girl is on Hiatus.
1) Chat with Baxter. He loves to listen. Not to big on talking.
2)Candy! Ok I’m seriously not going to eat all of this, probably not much at all. But because I am so seriously lacking any sort of stimulation today I got the bright idea to fill my glass canisters full of candy. Baxter won’t be having any either, but he made a very good attempt for one of the chocolate kisses.

3) Write thankyou cards, love letters, simple hello’s etc.
Seriously who doesn’t like receiving something other than a bill or crazy coupons in the mail. Emails are great, but there is just nothing like receiving a good old fashion card from someone. My Nana understands the importance of snail mail. She loves sending pretty cards and letters. Infact the last letter I received from my dear Nana was a very polite card explaing how there is never a good excuse to not call someone back.(whoopsie)

This summer has been CRAZY and by that I mean crazy busy. With the opening of a new store in Southport and three stores in the Wilmington area. To say we are busy is an extreme understatement. For the past three months it’s been difficult to even catch our breath. But enough with that! Everything is about to change. The business is about to change and our location is about to change. We are moving back to the beach and I couldn’t be happier. I thought I would never want to leave the house we are in now, because it is perfect in every way. But our lease is ending and we found some sweet diggs at the beach so why not! I used to think moving was a pain, but i’m starting to see it as a luxury. Who doesn’t enjoy a new beginning! So thankyou Whiskey Creek for being so darn good to us, I will miss you dearly!
I LOVE POST EARRINGS. THAT’S WHY I’M WRITING IN ALL CAPS. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I have been on the search for the perfect “me” pair of earrings. I finally found them! They are gold, they have rinestones, and they are perfect. They are also from J.Crew. Just got them today and so excited to wear them.

Spring time is upon us! To me this means new fashion and fruity drinks! When you live near the coast, baring through the long winter months is almost torture. Usually around January most of the coastal natives have had it with the cold, and this is when you might here one of them say ” summer is just around the corner”. Ahh yeah. This past sunday we had some, I guess you could say decent weather. If by decent you mean 60 degrees, a number Wilmington has not seen in a couple of months.
I must admit it was rather exciting. So exciting that Kirk and I decided this was reason enough to buy a pack of Modelo ( mexican cervaza) and grill hotdogs in the back yard. So I headed over to the local teet to pick up the goods. Oh and i’m so glad I did! Now can I just say it was sunny out. But still quite chilly, chilly enough that I made sure I threw on my fleece before leaving. When I pull up to the teeter (which of course was slam packed) I see an array of short shorts and rainbow sandals. Seriously? Even the bagger boy made a comment as to why was I was wearing a fleece, I guess he could see that I was annoyed, so he then made an effort to cheer me up by showing off his dora the explorer bandaid over his “boo boo”. I guess it was kinda cute.
Warm weather is as important to this community as Fashion Week is to New York. I do think I spent at least 65% of my time last summer in a swimsuit. So this got me thinking, I need to start researching what’s new, cute, and in fashion for this summer. This is what I found and of course NEED!!
